Joy

The unwavering trust
that God knows what He's doing
        and has blessed me with
            the opportunity
                  to be part of it...
not despite what's happening
      in my life
            but because of it.
When everything earthly
       feels heavy
He gives me an internal lightness
             that can't be touched.

Sing For Joy - Psalm 95:1-2

Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD;
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before Him with thanksgiving
and extol Him with music and song.

Yet I Will Rejoice - Habakkuk 3:17-19

Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,

yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.

The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to tread on the heights.

Define Joy - Sara Frankl

Joy ~

The unwavering trust that God
     knows what He’s doing
and has blessed me with
     the opportunity
to be a part of it…
not despite what’s happening
          in my life
     but because of it.
When everything earthly
          feels heavy
He gives me an internal lightness
         that can’t be touched.

Loving Lord And Heavenly Father

Loving Lord and Heavenly Father,
I offer up today all that I am, all that I have,
all that I do, and all that I suffer,
to be Yours today and Yours forever.

Give me grace, Lord,
to do all that I know of Your Holy Will.

Purify my heart, sanctify my thinking,
    correct my desires.

Teach me, in all of today's work and
        trouble and joy,
    to respond with honest praise,
        simple trust, and instant obedience,
that my life may be in truth a living sacrifice,
by the power of Your Holy Spirit,
and in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ,
            my Master and my all.
                                                                  Amen

                                                                       - Elisabeth Elliot

Good News Of Great Joy - Luke 2:8-14

And there were shepherds living out
         in the fields nearby,
keeping watch over their flocks by night.
An angel of the Lord appeared to them,
and the glory of the Lord shone around them,
        and they were terrified.
But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid.
I bring you good news of great joy
that will be for all people.
Today in the town of David a Savior
    has been born to you;
        He is Christ the Lord.
This will be a sign to you:
You will find a baby wrapped in cloths
    and lying in a manger."

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host
appeared with the angel, praising God
        and saying,

"Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace to men on whom
            His favor rests."

Be Joyful In Hope - Romans 12:12

Be joyful in hope,
    patient in affliction,
        faithful in prayer.

With All Joy And Peace - Romans 15:13

May the God of hope
fill you with all joy and peace
        as you trust in Him,
so that you may overflow with hope
by the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Fruit Of The Spirit - Galatians 5:22-23

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
    patience, kindness, goodness,
        faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

Rejoice In The Lord Always - Philippians 4:4-7

Rejoice in the Lord always.
I will say it again:  Rejoice!
Let your gentleness be evident to all.
The Lord is near.
Do not be anxious about anything,
    but in everything,
by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
    present your requests to God.
And the peace of God,
    which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds
            in Christ Jesus.

Joyfully Give Thanks - Colossians 1:9-12

* Be filled with the knowledge of His will
* Live a life worthy of the Lord
* Bear fruit in every good work
* Grow in the knowledge of God
* Be strengthened in all power
* Joyfully give thanks to the Father

Joy In Trials - James 1:2-4, 1 Peter 4:12-13

Consider it pure joy, my brothers,
whenever you face trials of many kinds,
because you know that the testing of your faith
    develops perseverance.
Perseverance must finish its work
so that you may be mature and complete,
        not lacking anything.

Dear friends, do not be surprised
at the painful trial you are suffering,
as though something strange were happening to you.
But rejoice that you participate in the
            sufferings of Christ,
so that you may be overjoyed
            when His glory is revealed.

And With Great Joy - Jude 1:24

To Him who is able to keep you from falling
    and to present you before
            His glorious presence
without fault and with great joy -
to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty,
    power and authority,
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
before all ages, now and forevermore.
                                             Amen.

Let Us Rejoice - Revelation 19:6-7

Hallelujah!
For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
Let us rejoice and be glad
    and give Him glory!
