Thus Far the Lord had Helped Me

Ebenezer ~ Stone of Help

Then Samuel took a stone 

  and set it up between Mizpah 

     and Shen. 

He named it Ebenezer, saying, 

“Thus far the LORD has helped us.”

                                            - 1 Samuel 7:12

“He who hath helped thee hitherto

    will help thee all thy journey 

        through.”

When read in Heaven’s light, how glorious 

  and marvelous a prospect will 

    thy “hitherto” unfold 

       to thy grateful eye.

   pause today to recognize 

      how God has worked already. 

Identify the prayers He’s answered. 

Then turn from your regular day 

     and return to Him. 

Pour out your praise and thanks.
